Sources have confirmed that Drew Barrymore the 34-year-old actress (“E.T.: The Extraterrestrial; “the “Charlie’s Angels†films) that she’s being considered for “Eclipse,†movie in the blockbuster teen vampire saga that launched with “Twilight†last year.
“I’m one of the directors that is being talked about, which is great, because I’m a director now,” Barrymore said in a recent interview. “But, you know, they’ll make their choice.”
“Eclipse” is slated for a summer 2010 release.
Chris Weitz (“The Golden Compass“) is directing “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” the second film based on Stephenie Meyer‘s best-selling series. He took over the franchise from “Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke.
“New Moon” will be in theaters in November.
Skeptics think if she has what it takes to direct the third part of the movie. Barrymore already directed “Whip it!†starring Ellen Page (“Junoâ€), due in theaters this year.
Though most people don’t think that she has what it takes to direct, I think otherwise cause for me she started acting in a lot of film at a very young age. Having that under her belt she has much experience in the acting business. Not only just any movie she has worked with some of the greatest director before. So directing her own movie would be a bit easier for her. She only needs a good push in the right direction.
She stars in the upcoming HBO movie “Grey Gardens,†co-starring Jessica Lange and Jeanne Tripplehorn.
